Job DescriptionBennett & Game Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with a multi-disciplinary transport planning and infrastructure consultancy, who are looking to expand their Birmingham, Fleet or Gateshead offices with the addition of a Highway Design Engineer or Senior Highway Design Engineer.Our client operates as a 'one-stop' solution for development transport planning, with established offices in Gateshead, Fleet, and Birmingham, providing services to both public and private sector clients, including nationally recognised commercial developers. They deliver successful outcomes on projects throughout the UK, offering expertise across S278/38 highways design, transport planning, drainage, and environmental engineering.Highway Design Engineer / Senior Highway Design Engineer Position OverviewDeliver highway designs within agreed programmes and budgetsManage project resources to ensure effective team utilisationSupport senior management with multi-office and multidisciplinary projectsEnsure compliance with design standards from relevant authorities and statutory bodiesUndertake, check, and authorise design information, drawings, and reportsProduce designs in accordance with MCHW, DMRB, and local design guidancePromote continuous improvement, innovation, and sound technical judgementEnsure compliance with Health & Safety and CDM regulations, with a proactive approach to risk managementHighway Design Engineer / Senior Highway Design Engineer Position RequirementsProven experience working on Section 278 and Section 38 highway design projectsStrong technical skills and experience across a range of highway design environmentsProject management experience delivering schemes on time and within budgetExperience mentoring and developing junior engineers/design staffRobust working knowledge of DMRB and relevant highway technical documentsExperience producing and managing contract documentation for highway projectsProficiency in Civils 3D and Causeway Flow / PDS for highway and drainage designStrong communication and client liaison skillsHighway Design Engineer / Senior Highway Design Engineer Position RemunerationCompetitive salary, depending on experienceProfit share and annual performance bonusesPrivate medical and dental insuranceCompany pension schemeLife insuranceAdditional leave entitlementFree on-site parkingRegular company eventsGenuine career progression opportunitiesBennett and Game Recruitment are a multi-disciplined technical recruitment agency based in Chichester, West Sussex operating across the UK with specialist teams covering a range of industries.We are acting as a Recruitment Agency in relation to this vacancy, and in accordance with GDPR by applying you are granting us consent to process your data, contact you about the services we offer, and submit your CV for the role you have applied for.
