I'm looking for a senior highway engineer and principal engineers in the North East. Independent Teir 1 national consultancy with a broad range of professional services. They require an experience highway engineer to join a growing team. The role will supportdelivery on key LPT, large county council framework & SIP schemes

Working as part of the highways team in the sub-region, you will provide technical leadership and be responsible for the delivery of design packages on major highways projects, project management of smaller and medium-sized projects, and highways designservices to other sectors.

**As a Senior Highways engineer you will be required to**:

- Lead projects and bring sound technical knowledge under DMRB
- Technical design for alignment, drainage at all stages from concept and feasibility through to detailed design and construction.
- Commercial, progress reports, programmes, cost, quality and monitor control to clients
- Prepare technical, commercial and progress reports, programmes and other documents to monitor,
- Lead /mentor colleagues. From graduates to technicians.

**Requirements and skills**
**Essential Skills and Knowledge**:

- Thorough understanding of the core elements of major highway design, including alignment and junction geometry, and drainage networks.
- Experience of leading the design of major highways projects to the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB).
- Experience of leading design teams and working as part of multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Knowledge and experience in the use of 3D highway design software packages; Bentley InRoads, Bentley MX, or Autodesk Civil 3D. A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualifications.
- Professional qualification equivalent to Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with the Engineering Council.
- Knowledge and experience of Bentley InRoads and MicroStation.
- Knowledge and experience of Bentley Projectwise.
**Desired Knowledge and Experience**:

- Understanding of Highways England's Project Control Framework (PCF) process.
- Experience of Project Management roles on infrastructure projects.
- Experience of mentoring junior engineers.
- Experience of working as part of Design and Build project teams.
- Experience in the preparation and administration of professional services or construction contracts.
