As a Field Technician you will be an integrated member of our UK-wide Environmental team, working on a wide range of geotechnical and eo-environmental projects across all industries, although those with experience of nuclear and linear infrastructure projects would be particularly well positioned for this role.The position is primarily field based with the successful candidates undertaking the collection of data to assist our environmental and geo-environmental site assessment. Previous experience of at least 12months is expected for this role and you must be willing and able to work independently. However, as this role is considered an early career role ongoing formal training will be provided to broaden the capabilities of successful candidates and support their longer-term careers within Arcadis.Role accountabilities:At Arcadis, you'll have the opportunity to build the career that's right for you. As a people first business, we take the time to listen, to understand what you want from your time here, and provide the support you need to achieve your ambitions.The core responsibilities of the role comprise:Environmental monitoring - Use of portable equipment such as surveying equipment, Photo Ionization Detectors (PIDs) and landfill gas analysers to collect data as specified by the Project Team.Environmental sampling - Collection of groundwater and surface water samples. This may include the use of portable equipment such as interface probes, dip meters, multiparameter meters and groundwater pumps.Soil Logging and Sampling – Collection of samples and logging of recovered materials in line with relevant British StandardsGeotechnical Data Capture – Collection of data from instrumentation, such as inclinometers.Supervision of third-party activities to ensure works are completed in line with both the clients and Arcadis' expectations around quality and Health and Safety.Building and maintaining effective relationships with Arcadis staff and client contacts on projects.Implementing personal workload in line with both the clients and Arcadis' expectations around quality and Health and Safety.Ensuring that where practicable all data collection onsite is in a digital format using tablet devices or laptops.Timely submission of timesheets and the data captured to the wider project teams.Performing of other duties and responsibilities as requires from time to time by your manager or Arcadis.Qualifications & Experience:Minimum of 12 months relevant experience in role and preferably a relevant Degree.Clean and valid UK driving licenceBe self-motivated with the ability to work independently.Willingness to work away from base location as the role primarily comprises working on client sites.
