The core responsibilities of the role comprise:

  • Environmental monitoring - Use of portable equipment such as surveying equipment, Photo Ionization Detectors (PIDs) and landfill gas analysers to collect data as specified by the Project Team.
  • Environmental sampling - Collection of groundwater and surface water samples. This may include the use of portable equipment such as interface probes, dip meters, multiparameter meters and groundwater pumps.
  • Soil Logging and Sampling – Collection of samples and logging of recovered materials in line with relevant British Standards

  • Supervision of third-party activities to ensure works are completed in line with both the clients and Arcadis' expectations around quality and Health and Safety.
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with Arcadis staff and client contacts on projects.
  • Implementing personal workload in line with both the clients and Arcadis' expectations around quality and Health and Safety.
  • Ensuring that where practicable all data collection onsite is in a digital format using tablet devices or laptops.
  • Timely submission of timesheets and the data captured to the wider project teams.
  • Performing of other duties and responsibilities as requires from time to time by your manager or Arcadis.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 12 months relevant experience in role and preferably a relevant Degree.
  • Clean and valid UK driving licence
  • Be self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to work away from base location as the role primarily comprises working on client sites. Vehicles, equipment, overnight accommodation, and reasonable expenses are covered by the company whilst working away.
  • Good understanding of using basic software on devices such as android tablets to ensure all data capture is in a digital format immediately transferable from the field.
