Job DescriptionFabrication & Welding AssessorFull-Time | Permanent | 37 hours per weekSalary: From £30,000 per annum + up to £5,000 market supplementWe are seeking a skilled and motivated Fabrication & Welding Assessor to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced industry professionals who are looking to move into an assessment role and support apprentices in achieving their qualifications.Industry candidates are very welcome - assessment experience is not essential, as full support and training will be provided.The RoleAs a Fabrication & Welding Assessor, you will work closely with the Programme Leader to support Fabrication & Welding apprentices through their NVQ Level 3 qualification. You will play a key role in ensuring apprentices receive high-quality assessment, feedback, and guidance to help them become fully qualified.Key ResponsibilitiesAssess and support Fabrication & Welding apprentices working towards NVQ Level 3Liaise regularly with employers to monitor apprentice progress and workplace performanceCarry out workplace visits to assess competence and review evidenceQuality check apprentice portfolios to ensure they meet awarding body standardsProvide clear, constructive feedback to keep learners on track to achieve their qualificationMaintain accurate and up-to-date assessment recordsWork collaboratively with the Programme Leader and wider team to ensure high-quality deliveryAbout YouEssential Requirements:NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication & Welding (or equivalent)Strong industry experience within fabrication and weldingPassion for developing others and supporting learner successDesirable (but not essential):Assessor qualification (e.g. TAQA, A1, CAVA)Experience assessing or mentoring apprenticesSalary and BenefitsSalary from £30,000, plus potential £5,000 market supplement30 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidaysAdditional Christmas closure daysHealth care payment plansStaff discount schemesOngoing professional development and trainingA supportive working environment with many more benefitsIf you are an experienced Fabrication & Welding professional looking for a rewarding role where you can pass on your skills and support the next generation of apprentices, we would love to hear from you.Important NoticeDovetail and Slate is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff, applicants, and clients to share this commitment.This role may involve work with under 18's or vulnerable adults.
