You'll gain exposure to all aspects of our operations – from underwriting and claims to finance, compliance, and IT – developing a deep understanding of our business and how we manage risk in a regulated environment. You'll work directly with experienced professionals from varied backgrounds and from different levels within the Group.What you will be doing:Audit Planning & ExecutionHelp the Head of Internal Audit with the delivery of the Internal Audit planLead audits covering the key business activities of the Acorn Group, which includes Haven Insurance (based in Gibraltar) and the UK-based distribution entities such as Acorn Insurance and Financial Services, Granite Finance, MyPolicy Limited, etc.Risk & Control AssessmentEvaluate adequacy of internal controls and risk mitigation strategies.Identify emerging risks in insurance operations and financial services.Regulatory ComplianceEnsure adherence and monitor compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.Reporting & RecommendationsPrepare clear, actionable audit reports for senior management and Audit Committee.Recommend improvements to processes, controls, and governance frameworks.Stakeholder EngagementCollaborate with business units to address audit findings and implement corrective actions.Act as a trusted advisor on risk and control matters.Attend and participate in Committees and Working GroupsTeam LeadershipMentor audit staff, ensuring quality and consistency in audit work.Promote a culture of continuous improvement and ethical conduct.We expect all colleagues to operate in flexible manner to meet evolving business needs, to help drive to our Vision, fulfil our Mission, and abide by our Organisation's Values.Who We Are Looking For:A 2:1 degree in any discipline – Accounting, Finance, Business or related fields preferred2-3 years Post Qualifications Experience would be preferredExperience within Insurance or Financial Service would be advantageousStrong communication, analytical and interpersonal skillsCuriosity, resilience and a proactive approach to learningExcellent attention to detail and high ethical standardsAbove all, we are looking for someone who demonstrates professional curiosity with sound judgement, i.e. having an interest in how the business operates, asking thoughtful questions, and seeking to understand the "why" behind policies and processes.
