Interim Finance Director / Commercial Finance Director OR Restructuring Day Rate | £800-£1000 per day + expensesLocation | Travel required to SE EnglandIndustry | Infrastructure / Heavy CAPEXNT14842Senior Commercial Finance / Interim FD / restructuringWe are seeking an accomplished senior finance leader to work alongside the CFO on an interim basis (3–6 months) during a period of significant commercial transition and financial restructuring. This individual will be instrumental in stabilising operations, strengthening financial discipline, supporting critical commercial negotiations and helping to deliver key restructuring initiatives. The role requires a practical, commercially astute finance professional who can operate confidently and quickly within a complex and fast-moving environment.Key Areas of ResponsibilityServe as the senior commercial finance partner to the Operations function, shaping and embedding improved cost controls, governance processes and financial oversight for project execution and capital investment.Lead financial guidance across contract transitions, governance frameworks and commercial agreements involving major suppliers, delivery partners and sub-contractors.Maintain tight control of expenditure, ensuring clear visibility of budget performance and providing challenge and transparency for both management and lenders.Oversee the refinancing and restructuring of existing debt facilities, working closely with lenders, legal teams and external advisers. Take a leading role in negotiating revised commercial terms and contributing to updated legal documentation.Produce clear, well-structured communication materials including board updates, lender reporting and Q&A support, working alongside the finance analyst and wider finance team.Experience & Skills RequiredExtensive experience as a Finance Director, Senior Commercial Finance leader or restructuring professional in a complex organisational setting.Strong track record in debt restructuring, lender engagement and managing associated legal documentation.Solid grounding in cash management and financial risk management.Proven ability to work closely with operational, commercial and external delivery partners—ideally on large or complex infrastructure programmes.High proficiency in financial modelling, scenario analysis and providing decision support in high-pressure situations, supported by FP&A teams.Comfortable managing multiple priority workstreams and performing effectively under tight deadlines.Confident leadership style, able to influence, challenge and provide clarity across diverse teams.Willingness to travel to and be onsite 3 days a week.Preferred: experience in capital-intensive environments and/or sectors such as telecoms, infrastructure or government-funded programmes.
