Graduate Opportunities in Secondary Education – LeedsBehaviour Mentor | Learning Support Mentor | Cover SupervisorAre you a graduate looking to start a meaningful career in education?Considering teaching, psychology, youth work, SEN, social care, or mental health support?We are recruiting motivated, resilient, and compassionate graduates to work in secondary schools and specialist provisions across Leeds as Behaviour Mentors, Learning Support Mentors, and Cover Supervisors.These roles are ideal for graduates seeking hands-on classroom experience, particularly within inclusive and SEN-focused environments, before progressing into teacher training, educational psychology, or pastoral careers.About the RoleYou will be supporting pupils aged 11–16 who may present with:SEMH needsAutism and ADHDLearning difficulties and additional educational needsBehavioural challenges linked to trauma or unmet needsThis is a structured, supportive school environment where consistency, patience, and strong relationships make a real difference. You will work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to help pupils remain engaged, regulated, and supported throughout the school day.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils who require additional behavioural, emotional, or learning supportAct as a positive role model, supporting emotional regulation, routines, and engagementSupport behaviour management strategies in line with school policiesDeliver pre-planned cover lessons when working as a Cover SupervisorAssist pupils with organisation, focus, and access to learningSupport social, emotional, and communication developmentDe-escalate challenging situations calmly and confidentlyWork alongside SENCOs, teachers, and pastoral leads to support individual targetsMonitor progress and behaviour, providing clear feedback to the school teamWho This Role Is Perfect For Recent graduates (any discipline welcome) Aspiring teachers, educational psychologists, youth workers, or therapists Graduates with experience in care, tutoring, coaching, mentoring, or youth work Those interested in behaviour, SEN, inclusion, or pastoral support Applicants confident working with young people who may display challenging behaviourWhat We're Looking ForA calm, confident, and empathetic approachStrong communication skills and emotional intelligenceResilience and consistencyA genuine interest in supporting young people who need stability and structureExperience with young people (formal or informal) is beneficial but not essentialEnhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)Availability Monday–Friday, term timeWhat You'll GetExcellent daily payFast-track registrationFlexible working opportunitiesAccess to 1000+ CPD courses to support career developmentFREE wellbeing resources and support hubPreparation packs for working in schoolsDedicated consultant support throughout your placementLong-term pathways into teaching and education careersWhy This Role MattersThis is not just classroom support — it's changing outcomes.You'll be helping young people rebuild confidence, stay in education, and access learning in a way that works for them.
