Location of role Oxford, UKDepartment Biology PipelineKey Responsibilities Purpose of the roleWe are seeking a motivated student to join our Nonclinical Safety Team to work on engineering cell models to evaluate novel bispecific molecules. You will use state‐of‐the‐art genetic engineering tools to perturb specific genes or introduce synthetic molecular circuits into mammalian cells (e.g. knock‐out, upregulation, gene modulation) and generate robust in vitro models for pharmacological testing.This role offers hands‐on training in advanced molecular biology and cell biology techniques directly applied the discovery and assessment of novel Immuno-engagers.Key Responsibilities(Training and guidance will be provided)Genetic Engineering and Cell Line DevelopmentIn silico design of synthetic nucleic acid sequences (e.g., sgRNAs, plasmids)Generation and propagation of plasmid stocks, molecular cloning.Generate, characterize, and maintain engineered cell lines for use in preclinical assaysValidate genetic perturbations at the DNA, RNA, and/or protein level (e.g., PCR/qPCR, western blot, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, Next Generation Sequencing).Apply engineered cell models to assess the pharmacological effects of bispecific molecules.Perform cell based assays (e.g. co-culture with immune cells, T cell activation assays, killing assays, cytokine release assays) to study pharmacological responses to gene perturbation.Assist with the isolation of specific cell population using Fluorescence Assisted Cell Sorting (FACS).Data Analysis and DocumentationAnalyze data, generate summary reports, interpret results.Maintain detailed electronic laboratory notebooks, protocols, and records in accordance with company's policies and industry standards.Present results in internal meetings and contribute to internal reports or presentations.Laboratory OperationsPerform routine laboratory maintenance tasks.Follow all safety, biosafety, and quality guidelines.Education And QualificationsCandidates need to be undertaking (currently in second year and looking for a year in industry) a BSc. in Biological or Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry, Immunology, Pharmacy, Pharmacology, or related disciplines.What will you receive?Join Immunocore for a paid placement and gain insights from our innovative science and corporate growth.
