Job DescriptionDuty Solicitor, 1+ PQE, Birmingham, £35K-£40K (DOE). This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly respected, Legal 500 law firm as a Duty Solicitor within a busy and supportive team. Our client is looking for a motivated, skilled advocate with a passion for criminal defence and publicly funded work to help deliver exceptional representation to those who need it most.THE ROLE:\tDuty Solicitor position based in Birmingham.\tAttend police stations to represent clients.\tProvide legal advice and representation to detained individuals.\tManage and progress your own caseload of criminal defence matters.\tConduct advocacy in the Magistrates’ Court.\tUndertake Crown Court advocacy where appropriate.\tPrepare cases for trial, appeal and related proceedings.\tMaintain high quality client care and case management throughout.THE CANDIDATE:\tQualified Solicitor with 1+ years’ PQE in handling criminal matters.\tCrime duty accreditation preferred.\tExcellent communication and advocacy skills.\tStrong IT proficiency.\tAbility to manage a demanding caseload with minimal supervision.\tPragmatic, professional and positive approach.\tPassion for publicly funded work.\tStrong attention to detail.\tAble to work independently and as part of a team.\tExcellent client care and team building skills.THE FIRM:\tOur client is a well-established and highly respected practice.\tKnown for strong commitment to access to justice.\tExpertise spanning criminal defence, family law, housing, civil liberties and human rights.\tRecognised and recommended by leading legal directories.\tRenowned for delivering high quality legal services.THE PACKAGE:\tSupportive and positive working environment.\tStrong focus on internal progression and development.\tExposure to industry specialists.\tExcellent career development opportunities within an award-winning practice. eNL will never share your CV with a third party without your express permission.
