Job DescriptionStrategic Administrative Assistant | 3 months | Urgent Strategic Administrative Assistant £14.67 p/hour – 37 hours per week 3 months temporary Leeds City Centre based Here at Hays, we are partnering with a national public sector body to support the recruitment of a Strategic Administrative Assistant on a 3-month temporary basis. This is an urgent requirement to provide immediate operational and administrative support to maintain critical workstreams during a period of transformation. This role will be well suited to someone who has proven experience in an operational administration role, with the ability to hit the ground running and a track record of supporting complex organisations. The assistant will help sustain essential functions and contribute to the successful delivery of directorate objectives. Key Responsibilities: Provide effective administrative support across the Strategic Development Directorate, including minute taking, data entry, and preparing reports and materials for meetings and events. Support calendar and inbox management for the Strategy and Projects team, ensuring enquiries are directed appropriately. Organise travel and venue arrangements for internal and external meetings and stakeholder events, and ensure relevant information is shared with attendees. Act as a point of contact for queries related to Strategic Development activities, resolving or escalating as needed to ensure a positive stakeholder experience. Maintain and update data repositories, collate responses from surveys and consultations, and support the production of reports and event materials. Demonstrate a proactive, flexible, and professional approach to work, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards. Experience required: Proven experience in providing high-quality administrative support, including minute taking, data entry, and preparing reports and materials for meetings and events. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to handle correspondence, manage inboxes, and liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to manage diaries, coordinate travel and venue arrangements, and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience working collaboratively within teams, offering mutual support, and adapting to changing priorities and organisational needs. Proficiency in using word processing and spreadsheet software, with the ability to learn and navigate new systems and databases. High level of accuracy in data handling and document preparation, ensuring consistency and professionalism across all outputs.
