Job DescriptionSocial Worker - Living and Ageing Well TeamSouthampton City CouncilUp to £32 per hourJoin the Living and Ageing Well Team at Southampton City Council and contribute by promoting independence and wellbeing for adults in the city.This is a fast-paced role where you will use your expertise to manage a varied caseload, focusing on person-centred and strengths-based practice. * Statutory Assessments: Undertake comprehensive assessments under the Care Act 2014, focusing on individuals' strengths, needs, and desired outcomes. * Making Safeguarding Personal: Lead safeguarding enquiries (Section 42) in line with best practice, ensuring the adult remains at the centre of all decision-making and promoting positive risk-taking. * Legal Frameworks: Carry out complex assessments under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and contribute to Best Interests Decisions. * Integrated Working: Collaborate closely with multi-agency partners, including health, housing, and the voluntary sector, to coordinate effective and timely care and support plans. * Service Delivery: Utilise your professional knowledge to contribute to the delivery of high-quality, outcome-focused services within the Living and Ageing Well team.What You'll Need * Qualified Social Worker with a degree or diploma in Social Work. * Current and valid registration with Social Work England. * Post-qualifying experience in Adult Social Care, particularly within community or long-term support teams. * Expert knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and associated safeguarding procedures. * Proven ability to manage a demanding caseload and maintain accurate records on electronic case management systems.What We Offer * Competitive Hourly Rate: Earn up to £32 per hour, reflecting your valuable experience in the sector. * Flexible Working: Benefit from the council’s hybrid and agile working arrangements (a mix of office/team base and home working, alongside required community/face-to-face visits). * Supportive Team: Access to regular professional supervision and a commitment to reflective practice within the team.If you are a dedicated and resilient Social Worker ready for your next locum opportunity, apply now to join Southampton City Council's Adult Social Care team
