Job DescriptionSue Ross Recruitment are working on behalf of our client, a highly respected law firm, to recruit an experienced HR Manager for a full-time, permanent position.This is an exciting opportunity to join a prestigious, people-focused legal practice dedicated to professional excellence and integrity. The successful candidate will lead and deliver a comprehensive HR service that supports the firm’s legal excellence, regulatory compliance, and people-centred culture.Key Responsibilities for the HR Manager role:• Deliver all aspects of day-to-day operational HR, overseeing personnel administration, absence management, and HR reporting, ensuring compliance with SRA and GDPR requirements.• Provide clear, pragmatic advice to shareholders, directors, managers, and staff on HR policies, employment law, and best practice within a legal environment.• Manage the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to performance management and exits, maintaining fairness and professionalism.• Support the firm’s commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, ensuring all practices reflect the firm’s values and legal obligations.• Develop and maintain effective digital HR systems to produce accurate management information.• Lead on HR strategy, organisational development, and talent management, ensuring alignment with business objectives and firm values.• Drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement, well-being, and retention.• Advise on and manage change processes, including restructures and compliance with evolving legal sector regulations.• Ensure HR policies remain legally compliant and aligned with regulatory and ethical standards.• Manage sensitive employee relations matters with professionalism and discretion.• Oversee health and safety processes, DSE assessments, and occupational health referrals.Candidate Requirements for the HR Manager role:• CIPD-qualified or equivalent HR professional certification.• Strong working knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice.• Proven ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels.• Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills.• Highly organised, with strong planning, problem-solving, and commercial awareness.• Confident advising senior stakeholders within a professional services or regulated environment.• Approachable, empathetic, and committed to delivering HR excellence with integrity and respect.What’s on Offer for the HR Manager role:• The opportunity to join a reputable and forward-thinking law firm with a supportive culture.• A role offering genuine influence across strategic HR planning and people development.• A collaborative, respectful environment that values approachability, integrity, and excellence.This is an outstanding organisation to work with, and the successful candidate will enjoy being part of a dynamic and forward-thinking team culture.Unfortunately due to the number of applications we receive, we are unable to provide individual feedback to all applicants.
