About The RoleSenior Infrastructure Engineer – Braintree District CouncilTemporary, Part-Time3 days per week2-3 Months Contract£389.864 PAYE / £500 Umbrella daily rateImmediate StartClosing Date: Tuesday 9th December 2025Interviews: Monday 15th December 2025Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Braintree District Council in recruiting a Senior Infrastructure Engineer on a part-time, temporary basis.Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate will be required to be on-site 2 days per week.Key Accountabilities:Technical support and maintenance for enterprise level server infrastructure including Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP.Manage, troubleshoot and optimise network architecture, including LAN/WAN, WIFI, firewalls, VPNs, and routing for secure connectivity.Technical support and knowledge of Backup solutions and Disaster RecoveryMonitor system performance and capacity, proactively identifying and resolving issuesEnsure robust cybersecurity measures, including vulnerability management, patching, and complianceTechnical lead for infrastructure projects, migrations, and upgradesAdminister and manage Microsoft 365/Office 365 environments, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Co-Pilot, Intune, and security/compliance configurations.Maintain documentation and enforcement of IT policiesLocal government experienceProvide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and support teams.What You Should Do NextIf you are interested in finding out more about this role, we would love to hear from you.
