Job DescriptionOperations Manager - Sinoboom UK (Derby)About Sinoboom UKSinoboom are a global leader in the design, manufacture, and supply of innovative MEWP’s (Mobile Elevated Work Platforms).We are dedicated to delivering exceptional service, reliable equipment, and a safe working environment for our customers across the UK access industry.Role PurposeThe Operations Manager will be responsible for leading and optimising all operational activities across Sinoboom UK. This role ensures efficient fleet management, seamless, service delivery, strong supply chain performance, and continuous improvement initiatives that uphold the highest standards of safety, customer satisfaction, and profitability.Key Responsibilities• Oversee operational functions including logistics, service, workshop operations, and fleet deployment.• Develop and implement processes to optimise equipment lifecycle, availability, and utilisation.• Manage supplier relationships and ensure reliable parts/equipment flow to maintain service levels.• Work closely with Sales and Service teams to support customer needs and strategic business goals.• Lead and coach operational teams to maintain a high-performance culture.• Ensure compliance with UK health & safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.• Monitor and report on operational KPIs, driving continuous improvement across operations.• Manage operational budgets, cost control, and resource planning.• Oversee inventory management and accurate system records.• Champion a culture focused on efficiency, quality, and outstanding customer experience.Skills & ExperienceEssential:• Proven experience in an operations management role (preferably within plant, construction, or powered access industry).• Strong leadership and people management capabilities.• Solid understanding of fleet or equipment operations, maintenance, and logistics.• Excellent planning, organisation, and problem-solving skills.• Competent with operational systems (ERP, fleet management software, etc.)• Knowledge of safety compliance in engineering/industrial environments.• Strong commercial awareness and budget management experience.Preferred:• Experience in the powered access or heavy equipment rental/manufacturing sector.• Continuous improvement training (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).• IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.Personal Attributes• Proactive and results-driven.• Effective communicator and collaborative team player.• Customer-focused with a commitment to service excellence.• Adaptable, resilient, and comfortable in a growing, fast-paced environment.Benefits• Competitive salary + bonus structure• Pension and healthcare package• Opportunities for professional development and international collaborationHow to ApplyInterested candidates should send their CV and a cover letter to: john.chandler@sinoboom.eu
