As a successful and growing business, it has recently been recognised in the LSE Group’s ‘1000 Companies to Inspire Britain’ listAbout The Role:An opportunity has arisen within their division specialising in the design and manufacture of vehicle mounted cranes and lifting platforms. The company is a highly regarded brand to customers such as Ford, VW, BT, Severn Trent and Network Rail. The successful candidate will work within a specialist team and support a wide variety of unique and high-quality projects for customers at home and abroad. The role will not be limited to vehicle mounted equipment and so the candidate must be prepared to be flexible within the team.They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to be integrated within their team and to perform the following roles.Duties:Produce innovative design solutions to meet customer requirementsDevelop designs using Autodesk Inventor and produce drawings suitable for manufacture, including machining and fabrication drawingsHave due regard to legislation and British StandardsLiaise with the client on designsFully cost designs and produce a bill of materialsTrouble shoot production problemsProduce system layouts and module assembliesWork alongside the production team to ensure a successful deliveryProduce operation and service manualsCandidate Requirements:Formal Mechanical Engineering qualificationGood working knowledge of 3D CAD packages – ideally Autodesk InventorAn interest and knowledge of machinery and fabrication designA basic understanding of the design of electrical control circuits would be an advantageFully proficient in Microsoft OfficeExperience of offering project support in terms of collating and presenting documentationWillingness to learn new skills and expand existing knowledgeGood verbal, visual and written communication skillsPrepared to be flexible on working hours to meet deadlinesA full driving licence that permits you to drive in the UKIf you feel that you have the relative skills/attributes to fulfil this role then please apply now for immediate consideration.The employer fully supports Equality in Employment.
