We are currently recruiting for two exciting opportunities within this vital sector — a Mechanical Project Engineer and a Mechanical Design Engineer. Both positions play key roles in delivering high-quality, sustainable water solutions that improve treatment, distribution, and wastewater management across the UK. About the Roles Mechanical Project Engineer As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you'll take ownership of projects from design through to delivery — managing timelines, budgets, and technical execution. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with industry standards. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage mechanical projects from conception to completion. Oversee planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. Provide design input and ensure engineering specifications meet regulatory requirements. Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress and quality. Manage client relationships, providing regular updates and ensuring satisfaction. Implement quality assurance, risk management, and compliance measures. Prepare documentation, reports, and as-built drawings. Drive continuous improvement in processes and project delivery. Ideal Background Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering (or related). Experience managing projects in the water or wastewater sector. Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and project management software. Strong communication, organisation, and leadership skills. Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent chartership preferred. Mechanical Design Engineer As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll focus on the technical design and development of mechanical systems used in water treatment, pumping, and distribution. You'll turn project requirements into practical engineering solutions that meet performance, cost, and sustainability goals. Key Responsibilities Design and develop mechanical systems and equipment for water-related projects. Produce 2D and 3D CAD models, specifications, and detailed engineering drawings. Conduct feasibility studies, technical assessments, and design calculations. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver innovative, efficient designs. Perform simulations and stress analyses to ensure system integrity and performance. Support installation, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance planning. Ideal Background Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline. Proven experience in mechanical design for water treatment, distribution, or non‑infra projects. Skilled in CAD software and mechanical analysis tools. Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and system design principles. Excellent technical and problem‑solving abilities.
