Job DescriptionMaritime Safety EngineerLocation: Bristol (Hybrid / Flexible Working)Clearance Required: SC About the RoleThere are several exciting opportunities for qualified and experienced Maritime Safety Engineers to join a growing and dynamic team. We're seeking motivated individuals who want to make a meaningful impact in delivering and expanding the maritime safety capability.You'll work alongside subject matter experts, providing safety advice, guidance, and leadership across a range of surface and sub-surface projects and programmes within the UK defence and maritime sectors.Our engineers deliver high-quality safety artefacts and independent, assured safety advice to clients. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while meeting both client and company expectations.Your knowledge of safety and risk management techniques, processes, and frameworks will help clients understand and comply with UK safety legislation and MOD safety policy.What You'll Be DoingDelivering safety documentation and analysis for maritime programmes.Providing independent, expert advice on safety assurance and risk management.Applying MOD safety processes such as DEFSTAN 00-056, JSP 430, and POSMS.Producing key artefacts including hazard logs, safety case reports, and ALARP justifications.Engaging with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safety requirements are met.Supporting growth through business development, bid writing, and technical consultancy.Key Skills and ExperienceEssential:Proven experience in maritime safety engineering.Working knowledge of MOD safety processes (e.g., DSA regulations, DEFSTAN 00-056, JSP 430, POSMS).Eligible for SC Security Clearance (existing clearance preferred).Strong authoring skills for safety documentation (hazard logs, safety cases, ALARP statements).Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications.Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.In return our client offers:Competitive salary, commensurate with experience and qualifications.Flexible and hybrid working options.28 days annual leave + public holidays.Company pension Private healthcare, with subsidised options for partners and dependents.Discretionary annual bonus, based on performance and business contribution.Strong commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) through training, qualifications, and peer learning.JBRP1_UKTJ
