What will you be doing?

Working for our charity Saints Foundation you will lead and advise on legal, regulatory and governance requirements, in order to ensure the safe and effective running of the charity. You will work closely with Southampton Football Club’s Legal & Compliance team to ensure best practice and alignment with the club. The role will also lead on data protection for Saints Foundation, working with the Football Club’s DPO, ensuring staff are supported to run operations in accordance with Data Protection regulation.

We want you to provide the lead on all areas of legislation, including the review of all contracts, as well as creating a suite of templates documents to support operational staff. You’ll lead on the charity’s day-to-day legal and risk requirements, ensuring that we run our operations in accordance with all data protection regulations and laws, as well as providing a secretariat to the Trustee Board. You will support our fundraising team with understanding legislation and advising them on the best approach for partnerships and 3rd party opportunities.

Is this you?
- Qualified as a solicitor or barrister in the UK or qualified as a CILEX Legal Executive.
- Proven track record of advising on, reviewing and drafting a broad range of commercial contracts.
- Ideally you also have experience advising on charitable law and fundraising requirements.
- Ability to listen to and communicate with clarity, to a wide range of individuals.
- Ability to prioritise and balance a range of priorities, and a varied workload ensuring key tasks are completed in accordance with work plans.
- A strong team player, with the ability to influence, persuade and challenge, whilst working with and through others to achieve positive results for the team.
