IBK are currently supporting a family with an 11 year old son who is need of an upbeat and committed PA who needs support with all aspects of their life. The young boy has a profound disability, so the role will need an individual with care experience in personal care, washing and feeding. Alongside this, there is lots of opportunity for play and involving the young person in all the hobbies he loves to do.

The individual has a lot of interests, he loves to go out to busy environments, especially if this involves going to Costa He enjoys going for walks in his wheelchair, going on the swing, playing with his sister and horse-riding. He is also a music lover, so if the PA shared this interest or loves to sing would be a bonus

**Essential criteria**
- Experience of working with children with complex needs
- Willing to undertake essential training at commencement and take part in regular updates with parents and professionals.
- Ability to work as a team and to learn from existing PA’s
- Understand positive risk management and can keep calm in times of emergency
- Willing to invest in getting to know the young man well and commit to providing the best support
- Be friendly, reliable, and honest; and maintain confidentiality.
- Be respectful in the family-home.
- Be creative and confident with a fun and professional approach
- A good sense of humour and a warm caring nature

**Desirable criteria**
- Have ideas about things that the young person may enjoy and bring your own interests to the team
- A car driver with use of a car
- An interest or talent for music

**Hours (Can be undertaken by 1 PA or shared between 2 PA's)**

**Tuesdays and Thursdays: 4pm-8pm**

**Sundays: Various shift patterns available**

**Additional hours are also available in school holidays**

**The ideal PA could also cover other shifts as needed by the family in times of PA sickness and holidays.**
