The City and North East Oxon Adult Mental Health Team are advertising for a Support Time and Recovery (STR) Worker to help with adults with mental illness by offering practical support and advice and to improve people's lives across the local community.
The Oxford City and North East Oxon Adult Mental Health Team which serves a multicultural population, including the universities, for adults of working age (18-65) who are experiencing severe and enduring mental illnesses. The team covers the geographical area of the city of Oxford. We work in collaboration with partnership agencies such as Mind, Restore, Elmore and Response. This discipline of care gives an opportunity to visit patients in their own home, in the community or their supported living accommodation.
You will join a dedicated staff group providing assessment and evidence-based interventions to a wide range people in Oxford and the surrounding area.
As a Support Worker you will be instrumental in our services and deliver recovery focused interventions (emotional and practical support) to service users in their own place of residence under the guidance and support of qualified mental health Clinicians and Team Leaders. You will need to be a dedicated, patient focused and highly motivated individual, who has some experience of mental health and support work, working effectively as part of the wider multi-disciplinary team.
We use the principles of a flexible assertive community treatment (FACT) model of healthcare. We have incorporated FACT into the daily functioning of the team; which enables us to be focused on the recovery of the patient through a multidisciplinary (MDT) approach; with expertise from doctors, social workers, nurses, occupational therapists, support workers and psychological therapies staff.
We also have twice weekly MDT meetings, where we discuss clinical matters within our supportive team. We strive to provide person centred evidence-based care to patients, where possible working collaboratively with their families and carers.

As a Support Worker you must be able to demonstrate Trust values in delivering care to others.
