This role is designed to provide additional capacity, flexibility and capacity to the work of Restore’s recovery groups, undertaking a variety of tasks across the recovery services to supplement current work and enable the delivery of new projects. The post holder will work with their line manager to plan their work in advance, on a rolling basis. We are looking for a good all round generalist with a range of skills.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide absence cover for recovery workers as required across all projects
- Support recovery staff with specific projects as the opportunity arises
- Be present across all recovery sites on a regular basis, supplementing the work of recovery staff to support the recovery process (through practical work, social interaction and encouraging service user involvement)
- Assist with data inputting
- Assist with the referrals process, including undertaking assessments
- Assist in the development and delivery of the Recovery Innovations Project

**Person Specification**

**_Essential Requirements_**
- Knowledge of mental health and experience of working with people with mental health problems
- A positive attitude towards people with mental health problems, in particular people’s ability to develop and change and recover
- Experience in, and ability to facilitate group activities
- Ability to share knowledge and skills with members and staff
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with people on all levels
- Awareness of and commitment to all aspects of anti-discriminatory practice
- Ability to work on own initiative, to prioritise, organise work and meet deadlines
- Experience and ability to motivate others
- Experience and ability to work as part of a team
- Experience in keeping accurate and up to date records
- A good knowledge of database systems

**_Desirable Requirements_**
- Woodwork knowledge and significant current woodwork teaching experience
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation
- Experience in managing volunteers
- Clean driving licence

Restore provides Recovery Groups and a Coaching Service. Coaching provides one to one support enabling members (service users) to achieve their aims. Restore's coaching activities focus on supporting people to achieve paid work, after a period of illness, to start volunteering or start or return to education. Some coaches are embedded within Recovery Groups, and others work within hospital or community settings. Recovery Groups provide members with the opportunity to work on their journey of recovery together through therapeutic activity such as gardening, woodwork, catering or craft based activities.
Restore has four sites in Oxfordshire (in Oxford, Didcot, and Banbury), plus two sub-contracted sites (in West and South Oxfordshire) and staff who work across a range of other sites in the county. Restore also leads on the delivery of the Oxfordshire Recovery College, an innovative shared learning environment for people with mental illness, their families, carers and professionals.
