Vetting Superintendent

**Leading the Vetting and Clearance function so that all necessary tasks are undertaken to ensure Company managed vessels remain approved and eligible for business with oil majors and potential charterers.**:
**Main Responsibilities**:
- Overall responsibility to the Marine Manager for maintaining and improving SIRE / CDI and PSC results of the managed fleet.
- Responsible for Initiate improvements in fleet performance and company performance in all third-party marine quality assurance audits and inspections e.g., SIRE, CDI, PSC and Flag State.
- Responsible for ensuring vessel screening on behalf on 3rd party clients are conducted; including screening responses provided in line with agree timelines. Ensuring invoices for screening activities conducted are submitted.
- Responsible for ensuring that any 3rd party vetting, and screening request is promptly responded to and following up with the respective fleet group to ensure the required information / commercial questionnaires are completed and submitted.
- Responsible for leading the Vetting and Clearance team to ensure optimum assistance is provided to the Fleet Groups in the preparation and submission of responses and reports to all external inspections, e.g. SIRE, CDI, PSC, Flag State.
- Responsible for ensuring that all SIRE / CDI and PSC responses are completed and uploaded to respective databases prior to the auto publication date.
- Responsible for producing weekly Vetting / PSC, for clients and directors. Update vetting and PSC overview of the bi-weekly management meeting minutes.
- Responsible for compiling and distributing the monthly vetting bulletin, ensuring that action points are tracked and followed up with the vessels.
- Responsible of the accuracy and timely submission of data into Q88 and OCIMF database. Updating the various Vetting and Vessel Databases to ensure that full compliance is maintained by the Fleet Groups.
- Responsible for maintaining an overview of customer and industry crew experience matrices and provide recommendations to the operations staff as required.
- Responsible of maintain statistics and trend analysis reports for vetting and port state inspections. Discuss the analysis/trends report; proactively identify and communicate areas of risk with Marine Manager
- Engage with Oil Majors and Charterers to gain insight in managed fleet acceptability for term charter / COA (responsible for submitting ExxonMobil MESQAC)
- Assist with post incident management and close-out of any incidents with relevant parties to ensure minimum commercial disruption.
- Assist with team audits including TMSA, ISM Audits as required.
- Any other duties as required by the Company’s Senior Management.
- Class II - Chief officers CoC
- Bachelor’s degree in Nautical Science or equivalent.
- Sufficient experience as Vetting Coordinator / Superintendent or equivalent role within a ship managed company. Extensive knowledge of ISM/ISPS
- Extensive operations, technical and safety knowledge of chemical, oil, gas tankers operations
- Excellent financial knowledge of budgets and maintaining cost control.
- Extensive knowledge of OCIMF and CDI ‘vetting’ process.
