The Housing Standards team is made up of five closely linked areas of housing expertise i.e., construction, repairs, improvements, contract management, and safety. Each team consists of suitably qualified, skilled, and experienced trade operatives, surveyors, or contract supervisors.

**Your New Role**:
As a Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the council’s housing assets are maintained to meet all current statutory, regularity and legislative standards. We are hiring for both Mid and Senior Level positions, each offering opportunities to contribute to meaningful work and advance your career.

**Mid-Level Surveyor**

**About the Role**:
As a member of the Housing Safety Team, you will contribute to the overall success of the Housing Standards Team through a combination of reactive, stock condition and HHSRS Surveys. Those surveys will inform the Housing Improvement, De-carbonisation and compliance programs of work.

**What you will be doing**:

- **Stock Condition Surveys**: Conduct a variety of surveys and reports on the condition of our housing stock.
- **HHSRS**: Complete surveys using the Housing Health and Safety Rating System both proactively and in response to disrepair claims / tenant complaints.
- **Disrepair Handling**: Assist with the management of Disrepair Claims, triage and coordinate works from claims to the appropriate teams.
- **Repairs Surveys**: Produce specifications and schedules of work for complex responsive repairs and mutual exchanges.
- **Planned works/Adaptation Surveys**: Provide technical specifications for a range of routine planned works programmes and independence adaptations.
- **Post inspections**: Conduct post inspect visits of complex works.

**What we’re looking for**:

- Essential: IOSH Managing Safely, Level 3 Surveying Technician or detailed technician, HHSRS (or willingness to work towards these). Understanding of Building Control and Planning Legislation, experienced in specifying routine works in domestic properties.
- Desirable: CAD user, NEBOHS, Prince2, HNC Construction and the Built Environment, MCIOB. Knowledge in housing management, project management, disrepair claims, use of asset management systems.
- Personal Attributes: Proactive, a strong problem solver, and able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively. High levels of customer care. Able to maintain confidentiality.

**Senior-Level Surveyor**

**What you will be doing**:

- **Stock Condition Surveys**: Conduct a variety of surveys and reports on the condition of our housing stock.
- **HHSRS**: Complete surveys using the Housing Health and Safety Rating System both proactively and in response to disrepair claims / tenant complaints.

- **Compliance Surveys**: Conduct surveys covering Fire Risk Assessments / Legionella Risk Assessments
- **Post inspections**: Conduct post inspect visits of complex works.

**What we are looking for**:

- Essential: IOSH Managing Safely, Level 4 qualification in Surveying or compliance e.g. Quantity Surveyor, HHSRS, Retrofit Accredited or Level 3 Fire Risk Assessor (or willingness to work towards these). Understanding of Building Control and Planning Legislation, experienced in specifying routine works in domestic properties.
- Desirable: CAD user, NEBOHS, Prince2, HNC Construction and the Built Environment, MCIOB. Knowledge in housing management, project management, disrepair claims, use of asset management systems.
