Technical Lead

Hargreaves Lansdown is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Technical Lead to help us establish our new digital identity platform and journeys, focusing on the development, ongoing maintenance and driving roll-out across HL.

The Technical Lead for the Digital Identity platform is accountable for setting the technical implementation, operation, performance and governance for the Identity Solution (Forgerock) used to underpin HL's Digital Identity Service.

We are looking for someone that is passionate about delivering market-leading digital experiences for our clients, who is experienced in architecting and implementing Identity Access Management platforms and processes.

**Role Responsibilities**
- Acts as a single point of contact for the Digital Identity technical implementation, governance and escalation for the delivery team.
- Identifies obstacles, issues, decisions, dependencies and risks and helps the delivery team to overcome them.
- Establish the ongoing technical vision for the team, and provide advice on how to design and build against this vision.
- ldentify deeper issues that need fixing and collaborate with other leads in other teams to resolve.
- Look for opportunities to collaborate and improve overall technology outcomes for HL clients and colleagues, communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Responsible for the successful operation and performance of the Digital Identity Platform Team.
- Providing line management responsibilities for the squads within the team.

**Experience**
- Skilled in managing small/medium teams (between 1 and 4 squads).
- Experience in working in a regulated environment whilst maintaining delivery at pace.
- Experience of working with tools handling large quantities of structured data in different formats
- Understanding of Microservices & principles of RESTful API development, including structuring, documenting, versioning, testing and stubbing/mocking.
- Experience developing Spring Boot based Java micro-services.
- Understanding CI / CD and Trunk Based Development.
- Good knowledge and experience of Domain Driven Design concepts and other design patterns.
- Experience with Agile methodology.
- Experience in automation; functional and non-functional.
- Demonstrable experience of having successfully delivered a number of professional projects.
- Experience coaching and mentoring other developers.

**Knowledge**
- Understanding of design patterns and object-oriented programming (OOP) model principles.
- Knowledge of the fundamentals and setup of Identity Access Management systems (e.g., Forgerock, Okta, Ping, Auth0, AWS Cognito, Keycloak)
- Understanding of the OAuth 2 Framework and Open ID Connect flows (OIDC).
- Excellent knowledge of JavaScript and Typescript.
- Familiarity with Groovy scripting.
- Use of JSON Web Tokens.

**Desirable**
- Previous experience of implementing Forgerock and / or Forcerock Identity Cloud tools (Identity gateway, Identity management, Access management, etc.)
- Knowledge of AWS lambdas (javascript, python and/or go) and AWS containers.
- Ability to understand PHP code.
