Applications are invited for the post of Gynaecology Oncologist at the Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals NHS Trust, New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton.

This is a full-time substantive consultant post to enhance gynaecological cancer care services for patients at RWHT.

The post will compliment existing sub-specialist oncology services and the post-holder will join an established three Consultant Gynaecological oncology team and as a new post will complement and build upon the existing Gynaecology team in providing the full range of gynaecology services

The service is an established tertiary oncology centre within the Black Country, with robotic surgery capability.

With the existing Consultants, to maintain the department’s regional reputation as the leading provider for robotic surgery in gynaecology oncology and take part in medical audit and research as appropriate and ensure that the requirements of clinical governance are met.

The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust is one of the largest acute and community Trusts in the West Midlands providing a comprehensive range of services for the people of Wolverhampton, the wider Black Country, Staffordshire, North Worcestershire and Shropshire. We have been rated as GOOD during our recent CQC inspection. The Trust provides a comprehensive range of community, acute and specialist/tertiary services at New Cross Hospital, (secondary and tertiary services including Maternity, Accident & Emergency, Critical Care, outpatients), West Park Hospital, over 20 Community sites and Cannock Chase Hospital.

In conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, to provide a service in Gynaecology with responsibility for Gynaecological Oncology Care.

In conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, to play a full part in the out-of-hours On-Call service for the department. This includes being on-call for telephone advice and major incidents.

To provide cover for Consultant and Senior colleagues in respect of periods of leave.

To ensure that there are adequate arrangements for hospital staff involved in the care of your patients to be able to contact you when necessary.
