**Role: Financial Accountant**
**Location: Newport**:
**Contract length: 12 months contract
Hourly Rate: £30 PAYE or £40 Umbrella
IR35 Status: In Scope**
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Financial Accountant to work for a leading engineering organisation based in Newport. Looking for fully Qualified Accountant to perform multiple accounting duties to ensure monthly reporting requirements arefulfilled within stipulated guidelines.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist with the group reporting system, ensure P&L and Balance Sheet are accurate and delivered to Group within required deadlines.
- Balance Sheet reconciliations are performed for general ledger accounts, manage the SAP TB and in line with financial accounting standards.
- Key month end responsibilities including journal postings, Recoveries, Suspense Account clearing, reporting, Excel management.
- Ensure month end deadlines are achieved reporting to top management. Ensure compliance with all internal controls
- Assist with any audit requirements and Statutory Accounts preparation where required
- Provide support to projects and other business areas to ensure deadlines are met, processes are streamlined. Accounting standards and internal controls are complied with.
- Provide key support to team members for all aspects of the month end, financial accounting, and reporting.
- Timely and accurate posting of key financial accounting information
- Ensure General Ledger Internal control guidelines are met in all general ledger transactions
- Perform nominated general ledger reconciliations, adjustments and monitor and clear reconciling items
**Skill set required for this role**
- Qualified to ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar accounting qualifications
- Must be SC cleared/ hold Security Clearance
- Experience in the Financial Accounting function in a large organisation
- Ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines whilst maintaining high quality of output.
- Must be able to maintain relationships during stressful periods
- Must have a thorough grounding in bookkeeping, double entry and Financial Accounting principles.
- Excellent IT systems knowledge and experience - Intermediate - Advanced in Excel, and SAP is desirable
