A growing company based in Newcastle City Centre are looking for an experienced IT Category Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Lead, develop and implement the Procurement and Category Management for the assigned Category
- Setting the strategic direction of the IT Category, leading the development and implementation of the Category Plan
- Developing and implementing sourcing strategies for new projects and key renewals
- Providing strategic commercial and procurement advice to key stakeholders
- Running tenders and leading supplier commercial and contract negotiations
- Assisting the Head of Procurement with ensuring that effective arrangements are in place
- Provide input into the development of costing and pricing for commercial bids and implementation of income/grant-funded projects
- Managing and coaching, as appropriate, junior members of the Procurement and Shared Services team
- Leading or supporting (as appropriate) the implementation of relevant audit recommendations

**Skills/Experience**
- Substantial experience in developing and leading a strategic IT category plan
- Using market knowledge and data analysis to inform the underlying strategy and decisions
- Leading tenders and supplier commercial and contract negotiations
- Effective supplier and contract management
- Building strategic relationships with key stakeholders
- Excellent leadership skills, with ability to inspire others to deliver and managing performance
- Possess an undergraduate degree, preferably in a discipline relevant to the role, and/or substantial professional experience.
