**The Role**
Offering flexible, hybrid working the focus of this Category manager role is to provide a first rate service to the organisation. My client is a large public sector organisation in Newcastle upon Tyne and they are looking for a Category manager to join theirprocurement team.
The role will involve the following key responsibilities:
- Establishing customer tendering and contracting requirements.
- Preparing business cases
- Developing tender specifications
- Preparing and devising appropriate terms and conditions
- Developing pricing schedules
- Setting appropriate timescales
- Drafting and placing advertisements, FTS notices
- Preparing Pre-Qualification Questionnaires
- Issuing invitations to tender / negotiate
- Advising on and evaluating tender returns
- Evaluation of suppliers (financial, legal, policies)
- Carrying out post tender negotiations
- Formalising and awarding of contracts
**The individual**:
The key attributes required for this exciting Category Manager role are as follows:
- CIPS qualified
- Experience in Adult social care/ public health would be advantageous
- Public sector experience would be beneficial
- Experience in tendering process
- Purchasing experience is essential
- Category management experience needed
- Good IT skills
- Strong communication skills across all levels
- Works well under pressure
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good commercial understanding
