We are currently recruiting for a Support Worker to join the STEPS team in Doncaster on a permanent basis.

This is a FANTASTIC opportunity to support vulnerable adults in the area to regain skills and confidence and the ability to live independently

**This position is**:

- Permanent
- Part time - 25 hours per week

**About the team**

The Short Term Enablement Programme (STEPS) provides short term care and support to vulnerable adults living in the community.

The focus of the team is to enable people to regain confidence and skills they may have lost through ill health or due to a crisis and to assess the support they will need longer term.

The service is provided for up to 6 weeks, depending upon the individual's needs & abilities.

STEPS provides support within the community when an adult is finding it difficult to complete daily tasks and when an adult is leaving hospital and needs additional support to regain skills and confidence.

**About the role**

The core responsibilities of this role are:
1. To provide personal and practical support enabling vulnerable adult to remain in their own home and access the local community.

2. To have an awareness of and follow support plans, risk assessments, moving and handling assessment supporting the vulnerable adult to achieve assessed goals and outcomes..

3. To support the service user during times when there is an alteration in their wellbeing or social circumstances. And to report to the appropriate person at the earliest opportunity if the service user appears to be at risk or if their condition or situation alters.

4. All duties and responsibilities must be undertaken to meet regulations and standards as set out in Domiciliary Care National Minimum Standards - striving for excellence at all times.

**About you**

We are looking for compassionate, positive and patient individuals with experience of working with vulnerable adults. Due to the nature of this role, it is essential that you are a **driver** with **access to your own vehicle.
