We are looking to recruit a Personal Assistant (on behalf of a family) to provide support with their child who has Autism. The Personal Assistant will need to work closely with the family and will be required to support the child either in the home or out in the Community to access relevant activities. The Personal Assistant will need to be a competent person whom is able to stay calm, collective and vigilant at all times.

A Personal Assistant works directly with one or more individuals to support them with various aspects of their daily life so that they can live it in a way they choose. You will be employed directly by the family of the person who needs care and support. Daily tasks could include help with communication, physical tasks, and taking the child out into the community to do activities.

Experience with young children desirable. Previous work with disabilities an advantage but neither are necessary as shadow training alongside the parent's can be arranged. Additional training will be given, if required, in areas such as Safeguarding, Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities, Manual Handling and Paediatric First Aid. A full enhanced DBS check will be required prior to starting with the family and will be provided.

As a Personal Assistant, you are likely to be involved in many aspects of your employers life and may be asked to support in the home, at leisure or at work. The family require 5 hours per week after school hours and possibly weekends (Days/times to be agreed with family) Hourly rate of pay is £10.42 per hour.

Driver with own car is preferred but not essential for this role.
