**Job summary**:

- Defence Support works with 60,000 personnel across the Ministry of Defence Support network, to ensure our Armed Forces are equipped to operate effectively and gain operational advantage. Each year a third of the Defence budget is spent on Support - from moving troops, loading aircraft and refitting submarines to maintaining the engines of our armoured vehicles and refuelling them anywhere in the world. Defence Support provides centralised oversight of this capability, ensuring the network operates effectively and delivers value for money.

- This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.**Job description**:

- The Information Support Officer (ISO) is accountable for delivering accurate and timely IT support to the DefSp organisation that is in line with legislation and MOD policy, whilst ensuring value for money is achieved. The post holder will regularly interact with the Information Managers (IMgr's) and fellow ISO's to proactively manage and ensure iHub outputs are completed, and user expectations are managed effectively, within the service level agreement.- **Person specification**:

- Authorised demander and LSO for DefSp (both Dii(S) & MODNET):

- Process user requests
- Create, amend & delete user profiles
- Create, amend & delete user job roles
- Process hardware/software requests- Catalogue requests (Defence Digital/CP&F)
- Asset Management:

- Procurement
- Maintenance (Asset registers/audits)
- Storage
- Issuing
- Troubleshooting
- Disposals
- Information Assurance - Records Management administration (HPRM) e.g. reviewing and electronic record holdings and encouraging best Information and Record management behaviour in line with Policy- Main Point of Contact (PoC) for and promoting adherence to Ways of Working (WoW):

- Producing how to guides
- Holding training sessions
- Write the DefSp Top Tips article in the fortnightly Sway- Maintaining and administering file plans
- Maintaining and administering MS Teams and O365 Groups
- Team site administration (SharePoint MODNET/Dii(S)/Secret MODNET)
- Engagement with IT providers:

- Escalating IT issues with external and internal IT providers
- Sourcing approved solutions and knowledge from other internal IT departments- Ensuring up to date knowledge:

- Remaining up to date with, and actively interpret, JSP's and MOD/TLB policy
- Actively engage regularly in IT updates available to organisation
- Develop own understanding of processes and procedures regarding Information Management and stakeholders**Behaviours**:
