The school is growing steadily and with that, comes the need to strengthen the curriculum. Drama is new to the KS3 curriculum this year and has already given the students a more rounded experience. The Head of Creative Arts will oversee the next phase of the development of the Arts provision in the Academy with Art, Music and Drama all on the KS3 curriculum for the first time. Art uptake at GCSE (AQA) has been traditionally good, and GCSE photography has been a supplementary entry for some groups. Music is a more recent addition to the KS4 curriculum and currently has small groups studying the Tech Award.

The Art department is housed in large, well resourced rooms, with lots of potential for expansion of 3D or digital media. Music will be housed in a newly renovated room and will accommodate a suite of new iMacs and three practice rooms. Drama will be taught in a large space with good storage. Both Music and Drama rooms adjacent to the school hall are in the process of redevelopment alongside a suite of tuition rooms.
