We are working with the **The Heys School in Prestwich, Bury** to find them a Finance Officer to join their team.
The Heys School are part of the Rowan Learning Trust. The trust intends to double their family of schools in the next few years and is seeking a Finance Officer who will grow with them. There will be further opportunities within the trust as your career progresses.
**Important Details**:
- Salary is £25419 - £28227 working all year round.
- The school are happy to offer Term-time + 4weeks, all year round and anything in between. Depending on what suits you.
- Excellent local authority pension with employer contributions of 19.6%.
- Based in Prestwich, Bury 8-4 Monday to Friday.

**Duties of the Finance Officer**:
- Manage financial admin.
- Manage process for collating monthly payroll documents and submit to payroll.
- Input staff salaries, ensuring all entries reconcile to BACS payments.
- Investigate any anomalies and ensure corrections are made.
- Reconcile Bacs payments against system payments raised and payroll reports. Investigate variances and correct.
- Prepare and generate Bacs and cheque payments.
- Manage Accounts Receivable ledger - issue invoices, chase outstanding payments.
- Complete monthly petty cash imprest checks, investigate and correct anomalies.
- Complete weekly/monthly bank reconciliations, investigate and correct anomalies.
- Prepare monthly VAT submission for any re-claim/payment, ensuring HMRC rules are followed
- Provide advice and support to colleagues on VAT as required.
- Undertake month end procedures to ensure all reporting requirements are met.
- Update fixed asset register each month and reconcile to trial balance. Investigate any differences and correct.
- Prepare information for internal/external audits as required.
- Monitor all trip cost centres to ensure all costs are covered or refunds are made. Create budgets and cash flows for all trips.
- Manage the cashless systems for both dinner money and trips etc.
- Contribute to the budget setting process.
- Prepare financial reports and documents for the Leadership team and Governing Body meetings, under direction of the Business Manager.
- Manage all finance procedures to ensure a positive service to staff and students.
- Promote a culture of continuous review and improvement.
- Request CPD/training as required.
**The Finance Officer Must Have**:
- The ability to manage all day-to-day finance tasks, with full training.
- Experience working in a finance department/finance role.
- Good IT skills and the ability to pick up new software.
- Great communication and relationship building skills.
- An ambition to learn and develop.
- A willingness to take on further qualifications.
- A conscientious and professional attitude to work.
