Trainee Technical Coordinator Tunbridge Wells

As our latest region based in our prestigious new Tunbridge Wells office expands we are seeking to appoint an ambitious high calibre Assistant Technical Co-ordinator who would ideally have previous expertise in the residential/housebuilder field, having assisted with the co-ordination of technical functions on a number of medium to large sites (20-400+ units).

The role would also suit a graduate Architectural Technician or Building Surveyor and/or someone with 2 years’ experience in an architectural/similar practice and/or within the residential development sector.
Key Roles & Responsibilities

Coordinating
- General technical/projects & managing the flow of information related to project.
- Working drawings and collate all supporting information ensuring all are in accordance with the approved planning scheme
- A schedule with site teams for pre-completion sound testing and air pressure testing to satisfy Building Control requirements
- Conveyance plans and legal packs for each project
- Thorough communication between all consultants

Technical Support
- Review external technical reports, designs - including house type working drawings, planning layouts, landscaping & engineering layouts and critique them to ensure efficient and co-ordinated design is achieved
- Provide Technical support and advice to other members of the team
- Undertake detailed assessment and approval of all supporting suppliers and manufacturers' information
- Review and comment on the technical content of all sales literature to ensure compliance with working drawings
- Assist the process of maintaining and updating records of the design of the project to include: drawings, registers, reports etc to share with the team
- Keep up to date on processes including but not limited to National Design Space Standards, Building Regulations, NHBC & Premier Guarantee Technical Standards
- Report on technical queries and cost-sensitive issues to the Technical team

General
- Input into H&S and environmental checklists
- Attend internal and external meetings when required
- Visit site to ensure the transition from Design to Construction phase and throughout the construction period to ensure compliance with drawing packs
- Attend project review meetings on-site or virtually
- Attend sub-contractor pre-start and post-contract meetings to ensure they are correctly briefed when required

About You

Desirable
- Previous expertise in the residential/housebuilder field
- Assisted with the co-ordination of technical functions on a number of medium to large sites (20-400+ units)
- Previous experience or qualifications as an Architectural Technician or Building Surveyor
- Experience in an architectural/similar practice and/or within the residential development sector.

Essential
- Degree/HND/HNC in Engineering, Architectural Technology or similar Construction related award
- Membership of CIAT or other accredited professional body and a desire to work towards becoming a chartered member
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Ability to: undertake design in-house, problem solve, manage conflict, drive engagement
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
- All-round appreciation of the legal process in construction
