METER OPERATOR (MOP) TEAM ADMINISTRATOR
Overview of Role
The aim of the MOP Administrator is to ensure all engineering jobs are recorded and completed in a timely manner.
This includes geographical grouping of jobs and assessing whether an over night stay is required.
You will also confirm appointments on a ‘day before call’ and ensure all paperwork is issued and returned promptly.
Data retrieval is an integral part of this role, requiring good organisation together with technical understanding of the steps to take when a dial fails.
The role requires excellent communication skills, together with an understanding of the types and length of time the jobs take (training will be provided).
You will be required to cover for other staff in the office, so flexibility and team work are also key requirements.
Job Role
- Receive job requests/paperwork from external clients or internally.
- Book in jobs on engineer’s diaries and issue paperwork with consideration to geography, travel time and length of each job.
- Deal with both clients and individual sites to arrange site visits.
- Record and manage the engineer’s stock.
- Send back paperwork and close down jobs when completed.
- Responsible for data retrieval and raising jobs where dials fail.
- General office admin such as answering the telephone, engineer dial ups.
- To learn and cover other roles within the office and share ideas and relevant information with colleagues.
Key Skills/Experience
- Minimum of 3 years Administration experience, preferably involving scheduling.
- Good telephone and communication skills.
- Competent typist with good IT knowledge, especially Excel and Outlook.
- Well organised and the ability to prioritise tasks.
- Be proactive in reviewing outstanding jobs and ensuring the engineer’s diaries are filled accordingly.

- Enjoys talking to people and has an excellent attention to detail.
- Able to communicate facts/decisions and not be influenced to change these unnecessarily.
- Have confidence and can use your initiative.
- Team player.
- Ability to grasp technical concepts and enjoys problem solving.
