Our new client have an exciting opportunity for a **Communications Officer **to join our **dynamic team in Sheffield.**

**What will you be doing?**

Support the Area Communications Manager, provide general communications support for the contract and assist with cover for other contracts in the region when required.
- Develop and deliver communication and PR strategies to meet contract objectives for Area Communications Managers
- Lead on the design and development of digital or offline projects
- Support the Area Communications Manager to provide day-to-day communication support
- Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement
- Create effective and engaging press and social media content
- Support the Area Communications Manager with enquiries
- Highlighting industry developments, with a particular focus on digital communication techniques

**What are we looking for?**
- An individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide industry-leading service to all internal and external customers.
- An understanding of the communications mix and content production across multiple formats
- Experience dealing with media both proactively and reactively
- A clear understanding of social media, social advertising and digital communications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage and keep projects on track and manage expectations
- Graphics, filming and video editing skills (willingness and demonstrable ability to learn relevant software) - desirable
- Understanding or experience of working with local authorities - desirable
- Driving licence and own transport required due to location
