Sheffield, United Kingdom Sheffield City Council Full time

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity to be part of the Anti-Social Behaviour Team. The team is part of the wider Safer Neighbourhood Service incorporating colleagues from Community Safety, Prevent and the Violence Reduction Unit, as well as being co-located with a Policing Team.

We are looking for someone who is motivated and passionate about helping communities thrive and being responsible for the supervision and professional development of the Sustainable Communities Officers. The team works alongside our Local Area Committees and other key partners, and you will play your part in ensuring that there is an effective response to anti-social behaviour and community safety issues affecting our communities.

You will be responsible for carrying out a range of duties including high visibility patrols in the community, supervising, and supporting a team of Sustainable Communities Officers and being able to prioritise and allocate work effectively along with making decisions and ensuring your staff are safe at all times.

Senior Sustainable Communities Officers work alongside their teams Monday to Friday working an alternating shift rota (days 8am x 4pm and afternoons 2pm x 10pm).

For further information or for an informal discussion please contact Shannon Brown, Operations and Development Manager on 07585329552.

We are investing in our workforce and are promoting opportunities to our under-represented groups. We value equality, diversity and inclusion and are focused on increasing the diversity of our workforce, particularly the number of Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic, Disabled and LGBTQ+ people, so that our teams reflect the communities in the city we serve. We are also supporting staff with unpaid caring responsibilities to work flexibly.

Under the Disability Confident Scheme, disabled applicants, who meet the essential criteria of this job, are guaranteed an interview.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
