Endoscopy Receptionist

We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-organised receptionist to join our busy Endoscopy Department at PRUH. You will be responsible for providing an effective service within the Endoscopy team, dealing directly with patients in the Department and over the phone.
This post offers an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and conscientious individual to be a part of a busy team. The work involves meeting and greeting patients and visitors, admitting and discharging patients in for their procedure, organising notes in and out of the department, dealing with referrals from wards and printing and adding outpatient referrals, together with incoming queries and day-to-day administrative duties.
**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- To ensure that all patient demographic data [i.e. address, postcode, GP and ethnic code] are checked upon arrival in Endoscopy
- To ensure that the correct Consultant and Speciality details are recorded accurately for each patient
- To make, alter and /or cancel attendances for pre assessment and or admission
- To schedule patients onto PiMs / Galaxy theatre system as required.
- To enter all admissions and discharges for all admissions onto PIMs and Galaxy theatre scheduling on a daily basis.
- To enter referrals onto PIMs adding the patient to the correct waiting list.
- To keep the DNA audit up to date.
- To prepare and organise case notes for patients pre-assessment anaesthetic review and or admission dates, making up new sets of notes where required.
- To ensure 100% availability of case notes, correctly tracking on PiMs
- Ensure any relevant test results, reports, referrals and clinic letters are filed in the case notes.
- To deal with all direct enquiries as promptly and efficiently
- To answer telephone enquiries and to accurately relay messages
- To be part of the administrative team and provide support to any other functions of the whole admissions process as required.
