DERMATOLOGY BAND 3 WORKING 37.50 HOURS PER WEEK - EMERGENCY CARE AND MEDICINE BASED IN CARLISLE

Provide administrative support to a high standard to the Dermatology Day Unit, on an operational daily basis and also providing assistance and forward planning for all Dermatology Day Services at Carlisle and Dermatology Satellite Unit, West Cumberland Hospital, Whitehaven. This position is currently based at Hilltop Heights.

You should be educated to GCSE English Language (minimum C Grade) standard, be trained to RSA level 2 standard and/or an NVQ level 2 in Administration and/or have the equivalent experience, preferably having a medical administration background.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required as well as a positive approach to working in a team.

We are looking for someone with a pleasant, adaptable disposition who can remain calm under pressure and deal with a busy workload efficiently and effectively.
- Answer department telephones, dealing with patient enquiries about admission and medical enquiries.
- Front of house reception duties and greeting patients.
- Provide a secretarial service including word, processing, filing, audio typing, photocopying. Ensure outgoing correspondence is correct.
- Input live data for coding and activity levels
- Prepare and manage patient lists for specialist Dermatology nurse clinics (biologics, monitoring and roaccutane) and other specialist activities as developed
- Manage Dermatology Day Unit waiting lists for Phototherapy, PDT and Contact Allergy Testing. Select from waiting list replacement patients for any slot that becomes available due to cancellation
- Manage and provide daily lists of all patients attending the Dermatology Day Unit, care and interventions to the Dermatology Specialist Lead Nurse
- Work with trust coding staff to ensure multiple Dermatology specialty tariffs are identified correctly and appropriately entered on the RTT forms and record attendances
