SWL Security services are looking to recruit a BID Ranger to assist a new Security team working predominantly working within the retail sector in the Weymouth town BID area.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with an SIA Approved Contractor in a unique, specialist role genuinely bridging the gap between the business community and the Police.

**Role**:
Your role will include visiting businesses and organisations within the Weymouth Business improvement District area and assisting in dealing with low level volume crime on their behalf as well as assisting local community policing teams in deterring crime and anti-social behaviour.

As an SWL BID Ranger you'll work in partnership with the business community to maintain law and order, protect members of the public and their property, prevent crime, reduce the fear of crime and improve the quality the public experiences when visiting the area. You'll use a range of technology to protect individuals, identify the perpetrators of crime and ensure successful prosecutions against those who break the law.

**Job Type**:
30 - 40hrs per week (daytime hours only and 2 rest days in a row)

Good pension scheme, training and support

Starting salary: £11.00 /hr

**Licence types required for role**:

- SIA Licence Security Guarding
- SIA Licence Door Supervisor
- SIA Licence Close Protection

**Other Requirements**:

- Five Year checkable employment / education history for vetting purposes.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail in completing daily reports
- Ability to work with business owners in reporting crime.
- Basic computer / technology skills (DISC training available)
- Previous experience in working in the retail environment is preferred.
- Previous law enforcement experience is advantageous.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Temporary contract
Contract length: 2 months
Part-time hours: 30 - 40 per week

**Salary**: £11.00 per hour
