Community Advocacy Worker

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Community Advocacy Worker to join our advocacy team working in partnership with Mersey Care.
- Provide specialist support to adult service users to articulate their needs and wants and to realise their rights and entitlements and to exercise those rights and be involved in and influence decisions that are being made about their future.
- Ensure that service users can realise their rights when interacting with public services.
- To access care and treatment for mental health, particularly where there is unmet need.
- Promote equality, social justice and social inclusion and to empower service users to speak up for themselves.
You will be supporting a wide range of vulnerable adults often with profound and multiple needs, so you will have experience of this type of work
Ideally, you will have strong experience working with vulnerable adults who are affected by significant health and social care issues who find it difficult to speak up for themselves; and experience providing persuasive verbal and written representations.
You will be supporting beneficiaries with a range of different types of support including at care team meetings, discharge meetings, at drop-ins and with group meetings.
A full induction will be provided as well as ongoing peer mentoring and support.
Pay: £23,000.00-£24,000.00 per year
