We are looking for a self
- motivated, friendly and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist to join our established Children’s Therapy Team in North Lincolnshire.
We are a small but dynamic multi professional team comprised of Speech and Language Therapy, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Nutrition and Dietetics. The team is based in a central base at Monarch house and works across North Lincolnshire settings including clinics and early years settings and schools. Within this role there is an exciting opportunity to develop skills across a broad range of clinical areas in order to develop expertise and areas of clinical interest.
Your job will be to provide Speech and Language assessment and management of children with a wide range of speech and language conditions in schools, early years settings and clinics. This will include working closely with parents, Assistant Practitioner’s to reduce the impact of communication difficulties. We are now currently offering an increased range of treatment and assessment options via telehealth, and there is some opportunity for flexible working from home. You will be supported to develop core Band 5 competencies working and to complete the RCSLT competencies framework. You will also actively participate with the team in development of new service development activities, regular audits and development of Outcome measures.

- Perform assessment of children with diverse presentations and speech and language impairments. Use clinical reasoning skills to provide, develop and deliver an individualized treatment programmes and care based on evidence based practice.
- Responsible for managing own caseload and a defined area of the service, working without direct supervision.
- To provide advice to other professionals in the clinical area of speech and language.
- To participate in evidence-based audit to further own and teams clinical practice.

Clinical Duties
1. To assess, develop and implement Speech and Language Therapy treatment on 1:1 or in groups (including telehealth).
2. To provide advice to others regarding the management and care of children with communication difficulties.
3. To provide information/advice to carers.
4. To demonstrate clinical effectiveness by use of evidence based practice and outcome measures.
5. To produce reports regarding children’s needs and summarising proposed care plans
6. To adapt practice to meet individual children’s and families circumstances, including due regard for cultural and linguistic differences.
7. To ensure that clients and families are involved in prioritisation of their care plans wherever possible.
8. To make appropriate clinical decisions following assessment, seeking support and advice from a supervisor as appropriate.
9. To make a differential diagnosis based on evidence from assessment, seeking advice as appropriate.
10. To develop clear care plans based on best practice
Professional Duties
11. Be responsible for the supervision assistants as required
12. To manage and prioritise own caseload
13. To communicate complex condition related information from assessment to carers and families agreeing decision making relevant to the child’s management
14. To actively participate in departmental staff and support meetings and other Trust meetings as appropriate.
15. Collect data for use in service audit and research projects. Manage and undertake research/ service development projects into specific areas of clinical practice and service delivery using a range of research methodologies as part of MDT audit and departmental research initiatives
