Engineering Co-ordinator

Job Title: Engineering Co-ordinator.
Location: Chatham.
Reports to: Branch Manager.
Hours: Mon - Fri - 8am to 4 pm with reasonable over time expected to be worked when and if required (1hr Lunch unpaid)
Overall Purpose of the job:
To co-ordinate the smooth logístical operation of the Workshop and ensure that all related jobs are carried out efficiently and that they follow Company process. The management of communication and maintenance of accurate records and data.
**Responsibilities**:
- Book in deliveries and organise deliveries.
- Supplier orders
- Liaising with suppliers, best price practice.
- To make sure Method Statements and Risk Assessments have been completed by the management and are ready for the Engineers to take to site on all jobs.
- Oversee training plan in liaison with the K&N administration team
- Assist and control with Health & Safety Management. All Pat testing, all insurance, Allianz, ESS, tag certs etc
- COSHH
- Electronic file management as above
- Ensure all photos are saved in relevant drives along with the K&N administration team
- Oversee the maintenance of All tooling and equipment in the workshop and for sitework.
- Update, review and control Chatham workshop asset list
- Labour Scheduler entry and awareness with regards to all live jobs at all times
- Compiling, modifying and maintain Knowlton & Newman paperwork systems (in liaison with Chatham management & HR).
- Supervision of Engineers when in workshop, welfare and work load.
- Organises daily operations and liaise with project Managers. Making sure all Parts, tools and equipment are ready for Engineers on all jobs.
- Manage and supervise the use of vehicles daily
- Use of forklift truck when required and daily safety checks and maintenance.
- Follow all Health and Safety procedures and wear the correct PPE at all times
- Attend weekly management meetings and weekly WIP report meetings
- Close supervision and inform the Manager daily with regards to Engineers whereabouts and work load
- To maintain a clean, tidy and safe workshop at all times
- Deliveries to customers locations and collections when required from suppliers or/and customers
- At the end of each day make sure workshop is left clean and Tidy, and all equipment and RAMS required the next day to be ready for Engineers
- Lead by Example in all aspects of your work and in terms of respect for your colleagues
- Manage unexpected occurrences by taking appropriate action, particularly in emergency situations
- Control and manage fire alarm procedures, roll calls and all tests
- Carry out the monthly H&S inspections in the workshop
- Team Leader Call out Schedule Rosta starting after 3 months’ probation period
- Carry out any other reasonable request from the management team.

- A professional and positive approach when dealing with Customers and Suppliers.
- Full understanding of job/Project requirements and Engineers requirements always
- Maintain all Health & Safety procedures and best practices always.
Key Requirements required
- A valid Fork Lift Truck Licence
- A Full Driving Licence
- Previous experience within the industrial Engineering sector within a workshop environment or out on site
- Computer literate
- A good and confident telephone manner
- At least O level /GCSE grade C Qualification in English and Maths
