A great opportunity has arisen to become an operational Senior Trading Standards Officer with us at West Sussex County Council.

You will be an experienced Trading Standards Officer and able to help develop and up-skill other members of the team.

As an operational officer you will be asked to conduct interventions with businesses to ascertain regulatory compliance and to act as an investigating officer, including more complex cases appropriate to your higher level of experience.

- Ability to quickly understand information; consider the issues, risks and legal implications and to take the most appropriate course of action.

**Qualifications and/or experience**:

- Qualification within a formal relevant professional qualification (please view attached job description for more detailed applicable qualifications).
- Experience of taking the lead role in investigative actions and projects.
- Experience delivering an effective, efficient professional service.

You may be required to occasionally lift or carry heavy items, for example when manually handling stock in a warehouse or carrying bags of seized evidence. The job may involve some exposure to disagreeable and unpleasant persons and/or environmental conditions due to the nature of the regulatory compliance role being performed. You will need to be able to travel independently to various locations across the county.
