Recruitment Resourcer | West Sussex County Council | HR Planning A unique opportunity for a Trading Standards Professional to undertake an investigation into the activities of a trade sector across West Sussex. The Opportunity Salary: £36,363 to £39,152 per annum or £39,862 to £42,839 per annum. Working Pattern: Full-time, 37 hours per week, flexible working patterns and part-time opportunities available. Contract Type: Two-year fixed term or secondment opportunity. Location: Based at County Hall North, Chart Way, Horsham and hybrid working from home. West Sussex is looking for an experienced Trading Standards Professional to act as the investigating officer for a piece of work looking at the workings of a trade sector impacting across the County area. The opportunity is a fixed term two-year contract during which you will work closely with the Operational Manager and legal advisors to progress the scale and direction of the investigation, considering both criminal and civil enforcement as required. If you are the successful applicant, you will be appointed within the career grade scale, dependent on your experience. Experience working within a Trading Standards Service and the ability to comprehend the Service's broader aims and objectives. CTSI Trading Standards Practitioner Diploma, or Passed the End Point Assessment for L6 Trading Standards Professional Apprenticeship or FCATS plus 40 points under previous qualification framework or Diploma in Trading Standards. Demonstrable evidence of providing a comprehensive, effective, and efficient trading standards service to a diverse range of customers. Strong communication skills, with the capacity to confidently influence, advise, and explain information effectively to a diverse range of people as well as negotiate and persuade others to adopt a specific course of action.
