Role: Measurement Technician
Location: Solihull, West Midlands
Shift pattern: 3 shift rotation
Rate: £27 - £31 per hour, Overtime rates are applicable throughout the week and at weekends.
The Shorterm Group are currently looking for a number of Measurement Technicians to support a long-term project for an Automotive company based in the West Midlands.
As a Measurement Technician, there are a number of roles and responsibilities. This includes the operation of the Mobile Inspection equipment, supporting the installation and commissioning of new and existing equipment, and supporting production issues.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
*Proving out measurement programmes against CAD designs and existing products
*Storing and managing inspection data
*Operation of Mobile measurement equipment
*Creation and issuing of measurement inspection reports
*Adherence to correct Measurement procedures and standards
*Identify technical issues fix them if possible and escalate where appropriate
*Group leader will manage the day-to-day task
*Undertake any other work as directed by their supervisor or Line manage
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Essential
*General Understanding of Manufacturing Processes
*Effective Communicator; Verbal and Written
*Self-Motivated
*Problem Solving Skills
*CAD Skills
*Metrology experience
*Experience in using mobile measurement equipment e.g. Romer Arms, Scanners and Laser Trackers
Desirable
*Apprenticeship / HNC/HND qualification
*Understanding of part/assembly Location Strategy Principals
*Understanding of GD&T (Geometric, Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
*General understanding of Automotive Manufacturing Processes
*Polyworks software
