Avanti West Coast are currently looking for a Disrupted Timetable Planner to join our planning team

As the centre of our Operations function, the Disrupted Timetable Planner role works within the Avanti West Coast (AWC) Operational Planning team. The team are responsible for producing the AWC timetable and planning our response to engineering work and events.

The focus of this role is to own, develop and maintain resilient timetables applicable during disruption, for implementation less than one week out. This includes timetables introduced up to one day in advance (Day A for B), for both planned and unplanned circumstances.

The role will be an interface between the AWC Planning, Resources and Control teams, as well as Network Rail Planning and Control teams, to ensure we continue to deliver robust plans on the day which are safe, reliable and efficient for customers during disruption.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

- Work with the AWC Planning, Resources, and Control and Fleet teams to develop bespoke, fully resourced timetables, for implementation during disruption, less than one week out and up to one day in advance (A for B). This may include extreme weather, very short notice engineering work or major events.
- Work closely with these teams to ensure effective traincrew diagrams can be developed and issued to required timescales.
- Collaborate with wider teams within AWC, including Commercial and Operations, to build specifications for disrupted timetables, to ensure they best meet customers¿ needs.
- Own and maintain these timetables, ensuring constant capability to robustly deliver them during planned or unplanned disruption, adapting the plans as required.
- Be a key interface and advocate between AWC Planning, Resources and Control teams, and NR Planning and Control teams to efficiently implement the plans safely and resiliently, with clear information available to customers

What sort of experience are we looking for?
- Industry experience could be from Network Rail or an Operator but needs a strong customer focus and operational planning understanding.
- Understanding of customer requirements during disruption including the needs of those with luggage, children, and other mobility constraints
- Good knowledge of NR and Operator operational planning processes, rules, and constraints
- Current or previous experience of the train planning / Traincrew diagramming / engineering access environment
