Here at National Gas, we are at the forefront of the UK's move towards sustainable energy and achieving our Net Zero goals by 2050. Whilst our teams work behind the scenes to develop the future of our energy systems, you’ll be out with our engineers in the field delivering the natural gas demands of today.
**What you’ll be doing**:
A graduate apprenticeship is a brilliant option if you’re looking to gain a degree whilst hitting the ground running in the world of work. You’ll kick-start your career blending academic study with work-based learning.
As an Electrical and Instrumentation graduate apprentice, you won’t be sat behind a screen; you'll split your time between learning out on site, working alongside experts solving real-world problems, and attending dedicated training and university days.
You’ll learn:
- How to use tools and equipment to draw and make things
- Science and engineering to comprehend how things work and are controlled
- How to transmit and process signals - and controlling systems using microprocessors
- Process related technical skills are enhanced in areas of control systems, metrology and understanding industrial installations and issues
- Control and estimation, batch processing, quality, alarm management and the integration of inter-related systems
- Basic process control, fire and gas, safety instrumented, and emergency shutdown systems
- Management and technical skills
We’ll work closely with your university to review your progress at regular intervals, providing feedback and guiding your development. You’ll have a tailored personalised plan that ensures you have appropriate support and training. The majority of your learning will be on the job, with off-the-job training and one-to-one tutoring.
