Tree Procurement Co-ordinator

As our Tree Procurement Co-ordinator, you'll be part of the National Trust’s Central Land and Nature Directorate and part of the Trees and Woodland Team. Your role will involve working with colleagues across the Trust and with external suppliers to manage, coordinate and plan our tree supply.
Your contribution will be key to National Trust’s procurement strategy to support our ambition to establish and plant 20 million trees by 2030.
The role is offered on a 3-year fixed term contract basis

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon, however there will be an opportunity to explore and agree hybrid working arrangements which strike the right balance for you and the Trust. The role will involve travel to our head office and other properties to meet with stakeholders and to carry out work.
What you'll be doing:You’ll develop central systems and processes to ensure that trees are supplied to projects at our estates, tracking from order to delivery and processing final payments. Working closely with colleagues in regions to gain insight into what species and quantity of trees properties will need for current and future years to inform our forecasting and future stock planning.
You’ll play a key central coordinating role to ensure appropriate and timely tree stock allocation and reallocation as project needs change. You’ll liaise with tree suppliers and Trust projects on orders, costs and schedule.
You’ll create and maintain internal communications materials and guidance so that colleagues across the Trust are aware of when and how to order trees. Using your project management skills to ensure that tree procurement activity runs efficiently, learning is logged and risks are flagged and mitigated.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Relevant experience in business services support, financial administration, project coordination or project management
- Able to establish appropriate processes for data collection and stock management
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- An understanding of procurement and contracting processes and principles
- Experience in building and maintaining great internal and external relationships
- Analytical, numerate, IT literate and have good written and verbal skills, with great attention to detail and proficient use of Excel
- Flexible, collaborative, problem solver and able to work with a high degree of autonomy to prioritise work
